One of my favorite illustrations to create was the Candy Corn Kids. It was a lot of fun to give each one of them a costume, personality & name. If you’re not familiar with The Kids, they’re featured on this post (the October 2012 calendar).
Candy corn is a pretty darn adorable little candy, right?! The Candy Corn Kids aren’t your average candy corn though, they’re gourmet! I love gourmet candy corn and look forward to the fall when such flavors as “Strawberry Cotton Candy” and “Sour Apple” can be found.
I’ve always wanted to turn The Kids into coloring pages. So I decided to make them into coloring bunting flags! Formatted as flag bunting, with hole marks to punch out and string ribbon or twine through. This would be a great activity for a classroom, just have each child pick the character they like the best and let them color with crayons, markers, glitter etc. You can precut the flags or have the kids practice their cutting skills and cut them out with safety scissors. Then string them all up for display!
I recommend printing on heavy white cardstock and using a standard size hole punch. All 6 characters are included in the PDF file.
I hope you enjoy this one. Happy Halloween!
