It’s a beautifully mild 70° in Arizona today and I’m about to head to the backyard for a spray painting day! :) First, I wanted to share my version of Eighteen25’s Glitter Trees and Christmas Subway Art. When I saw those adorable glitter trees, I immediately wanted to copycraft their vignette! So ridiculously cute and easy to do! We’re seriously pinching pennies right now though, so I had to do it in a super frugal way.
My dollar store only had the cones in one size, rats! I didn’t want to pay more than $1 per cone, so I had to make due. My solution to the varying heights came from some candle holders I already had. They were a super ugly green, so I spray painted them silver. I would’ve loved a 16×20 print of the art, but I didn’t want to pay for the printing. So I opted to print an 8×10 on photo paper (right from my printer) and placed it in a dollar store frame. To round it out (and stick to the silver theme), I put some silver ornaments/jingle bells in a glass container (both also from the dollar store) and we finally got to display the awesome Robot Snowman that “Grandma Robot” gifted to the boys.
I found a large container of red glitter at Walmart for less than $3 bucks and adhered with Aleene’s Crystal Clear Tacky Spray. There’s still a ton of the glitter left. Total cost for needed supplies was about $9. The husband liked it, but I don’t think he was too happy about all the mess I made on the back patio with the glitter ;)
